Marugame Castle is famous for its massive stone walls. Like all Japanese castles, no mortar is used in the construction, just good fit and gravity holds the wall together. This wall was apparently exceptional for castles and legend has it that the local lord who had the castle built had the walls' designer murdered to prevent the secret of how it was done falling into rival's hands.
