Kodaiji Temple

This time of year, some of Kyoto's major temples are open to the public at night and the grounds illuminated.  At Kodaiji the autumn leaves are mirrored in the main pond. Kodaiji is a Zen temple built as a memorial to 16th century military ruler Hideyoshi Toyotomi by his wife Nene after his death. The street is on is known as the "Path of Nene" as she was very respected by the people of Kyoto.
